Summary of Position:

This position is accountable for booking transient business through the solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet/exceed business travel revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

Position reports to:  Director of Sales & marketing

 

Objectives/Accountabilities


1)            SALES ACTIVITIES-70% of time allocation

  • Exceeds personal sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Solicits transient business through action plan preparation and execution
  • Independently responsible for achievement of objectives, as outlined in the action plans
  • Determines and recommends prospective customers from market information and resources
  • Works with other Trust hotels for cross-selling opportunities
  • Within established parameters, quotes and negotiates prices, confirming by written contracts
  • As directed, participates in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations
  • Maintains positive relationships with all guests, vendors, colleagues and Trustl sales network


2)            SALES ADMINISTRATION-20% of time allocation

  • Maintains account, contact, activity and business details within sales system and Infor PMS according to Hotel standards 
  • Upon closing, coordinates and follows up with Reservations, Front Desk, Account, catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised services
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
  • As directed, assists with the compilation of competitive intelligence information
  • Attends all sales meetings and relevant department and property meetings


3)            LEADERSHIP SCOPE-10% of time allocation

  • Help train and coach assistant on related work
  • Actively participates in prescribed sales training

 

4)            OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Preferred Knowledge/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma and/or minimum three years as a Sales Representative and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Microsoft Office suite of software literacy an asset
  • Lanyon and Travelclick, including Hotelligence reports knowledge an asset
  • Prior Transient sales experience in a similar hotel required
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish speaker preferred
